Accountant

SRS Partnership are currently looking for an experienced full time Company Accountant to join our client’s team at their HQ in the South Side of Glasgow.

Established many years ago, the company have grown to be the largest manufacturer in Scotland of their product with most of their trade out with.

An accredited SME with just under 30 employees they have managed continued growth year-on-year and plan to continue this going forward investing in both manufacturing assets and their people.

As the Company’s Accountant you will be responsible for overseeing the financial management and accounting functions of our organisation. Your expertise in financial accounting and knowledge of Sage Line 50 and Sage Payroll software will be essential in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Overseeing all the payroll function.
  • Prepare and analyse financial statements, including balance sheets, Profit & Loss, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Conduct month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
  • Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and changes in accounting regulations.
  • Support our external Accountants with necessary information to complete the statutory accounts.
  • The completion of statutory returns, compliance, and taxation matters.

Key Requirements

  • 3 years accountancy experience.
  • Proficiency in Sage Line 50 and Sage Payroll is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of financial management principles and practices.
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Solid understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience in mentoring entry level accounting staff.
  • Strong knowledge of all Microsoft software.
  • Understanding of VAT in relation to import duties & taxes.
